Painting from the series « The intelligence of feeling », Passerer gjennom. This painting series, whilst drawing on scape, is primarily defined by emotion and feeling. Parr continues to explore the balance of spontaneity and controlled intention during the painting process, whilst remembering and considering absence, time, distance, vulnerability, difficulty, loss and the notion of sometimes feeling lost….. the human condition. The painting was produced following the Artist’s trip to Norway, which felt like she had always known the Norwegian fjords, having never visited before. The Artist says « the atmosphere felt somehow familiar….. » She uses pallet knife, brush, cloth and sponge building up layers and washing away in a process that becomes as important to remove as to add, a reverberation of relationship with the canvas of addition and subtraction, a push and pull. Signed and dated on the side of the canvas, the painting is ready to hang.
