Description
I’d just come back from a trip to Koh Samui with a load of kids from a Bangkok Orphanage which the Samui Rotary Club arrange every year. Unfortunately the heavens opened and we had a lot of rain, but even so the kids had a wonderful time. The trip back was a nightmare driving through floods and the ferry crossing was like being on a rocking horse, but we all got home safe and sound. I wanted to paint, but something calming – when I need to calm down I think of Buddha and listen to the Monks (who do so much good work here in Thailand) and I find it very calming, hence I painted The Monks.
