Description
Laura considers her garden to be an extension to the studio, and will often look there for ideas for her next canvas. In this case a regular favourite, the cosmos flower, gets centre stage but the dashes of yellow in this painting represent a « red hot poker » – not the usual « red » variety though, but a lime green/yellow kind called « Percy’s Pride » given to her by an artist friend. For those garden lovers among you, the purple dots and dashes may well remind you of the wonderful, sculptural Verbena Bonariensis something that makes regular appearances in Laura’s work. This canvas is ready to hang but looks beautiful in a large chunky white frame.
