« Funny Games » Collection « Le Tape-Cul » is an original drawing part of a body of work started in the aftermath of the Bataclan attacks in Paris. They are about children. Real children and their relationship with the society they live in, but also that little part of freedom and carefree irreverence we should all hold on to. The series looks into the natural duality of innocence and cruelty, the need for protection, and how young people in their search to belong can sometimes turn to the wrong crowd. With varied scenarios reminiscent of childhood’ games, Lebourgeois wants to tell stories about vulnerability and disillusion, but also – like an antidote – rebellion and empowerment.
