Capture your performance
The MG12XU’s built-in 12-channel USB audio interface lets you easily connect your Mac, PC or iPad computer (from model 2, requires Camera Lightning/USB adapter – not included) to record live performances, demos or other sessions at up to 24-bit/192 kHz to your favorite digital audio sequencer (DAW). Steinberg Cubase AI software is included with the Yamaha MG12XU (available as a free download) for easy integration with tablets and other high-tech devices without the need to install additional drivers.
Effects galore
You can apply a range of effects to each of the MG12XU’s channels, thanks to its 24 available presets. The overall level of the effects bus is adjusted via the dedicated FX return level control. Among the effects available, you’ll find classics like reverb, delay, phaser, flanger, chorus, tremolo, auto-wah, distortion, and much more.
The famous D-PRE
Channels 1 to 8 of the Yamaha MG12XU are each equipped with D-PRE mic preamps, 3-band EQ, pan control and high-pass filter. The D-PRE mic preamps use an inverted Darlington circuit and switchable 48 V phantom power, enabling the use of dynamic and condenser microphones. Channels 9 to 12 feature a 2-band equalizer.
Outputs
In terms of outputs, the MG12XU analog console offers XLR and TRS stereo outputs for connecting your PA system or monitor speakers. There’s also a 6.3 mm headphone output with independent level control, plus additional TRS stereo monitor outputs for sending to powered speakers, amplifiers or devices such as digital recorders.
