A truly remarkable statement piece. Sophisticated, beautiful and tranquil – these framed, gilded paintings are made with silver leaf and mixed media on panel with a high gloss resin coating. Exquisite, luxurious, seemingly organic surfaces mimic macro and micro landscapes, creating subtle meditative works with the unmistakable, timeless allure of precious metals. These pieces are made with up to 11 different layers usually starting with bole on prepared board with the addition of silver and gold metal leaf which is distressed using numerous gilding tints and mediums. The piece is finished with a high gloss two part epoxy resin which protects the surface and also adds depth and luminosity. The resin finish makes these pieces difficult to photograph and accurately show the lustre of the metal leaf, which is dazzling in most lights but please see the additional images that try to show this off.
