Description
One of the few pieces the artist has ever ‘reworked’, Peony was revealed in 2018 at Vandoorne solo exhibition alongside Lady Amherst and Humming bird. These three pieces mark the shift in the artist’s approach to her artwork backgrounds where she moves towards a more urban, textured wall creating a fine juxtaposition between the pretty colourful subject matter in the foreground and a slightly grittier, less polished background. Like many of Vandoorne’s pieces, Peony has a ‘sister’ – Anemone, the two are often hung together side by side, either back to back or facing each other. Peony is also available in a smaller A2 size.
