Description
While searching for some red fir trees seen from the road Claire had to cross some private land owned by a sawmill. Struck by the array of colours that autumn day she made some drawings and started the series Trespassing For Art. This is the first completed oil painting in the series which began with several pastel drawings. To emulate the texture and rhythm of the drawings Claire’s style is looser in this painting, her use of a limited colour palette coheres the painting naturally and her love of the woods is evident. Trespassing for Art V is an oil painting on a standard canvas with dark grey painted edges.
